What do Andre Rieu,
Charlotte Church, Celtic Woman, Michael Bublé, the
Mazowsze dance troupe, Riverdance, and Andrea Bocelli
have in common? Give that man a cigar if you said that
they were first introduced to Central Illinois by WTVP.
In that grand tradition of
providing a venue for great performances, WTVP looks
closer to home this summer as we showcase the talents of
Peoria’s own Ed and Janet Kaizer and their jazz musician
friends from around the world and here at home. For four
consecutive Tuesdays beginning July 10, WTVP will record
the Kaizers et al in performance in our studio, and you
are invited to be part of the audience. Seating begins
at 6 p.m. with sound checks beginning shortly
thereafter. Two programs will be recorded each night and
scheduled for playback later in the year … sort of
Summer Hot Jazz in the Cool of Winter. Tickets are
available for $10 per couple. Bring your own beverages
and snacks. Soft drinks and coffee will be provided.
Please call 309/677-4747 for seating as space is limited
and available on a first-come, first-served basis. For

A sincere thank you to
everyone who pledged during last month’s on-air
membership drive or who responded to the fiscal year-end
appeal. Your generosity is appreciated more than we can
ever say.
Only 20 more months until
analog television goes away and we all switch over to
digital.
