He’s baaaaack…or at least he’s on his way to Peoria. As you may have heard us announce during the August membership drive, Andre Rieu and the Johann Strauss Orchestra return to the Peoria Civic Center on April 17, 2008, and the only way to get advance prime seat tickets is with your membership to WTVP.
Once again Maestro Rieu demonstrates his support for Public Television by offering this exclusive advance opportunity to WTVP members. Peoria has a love affair with Andre, and Andre with Peoria and Central Illinois. The attached picture was taken last fall on a side trip to Maastricht, Holland during our WTVP Travels excursion to Switzerland and Germany. Andre graciously met with our Central Illinois group over lunch at the Charlemagne Restaurant and took time for pictures and autographs. I asked his PR people if Andre did this as a matter of course, and she told me that he did not; he just wanted to say a very special thank you to Peoria for supporting him and WTVP. That is truly above and beyond the call.
