The start of a new fiscal year brings several personnel changes to WTVP including a new Chairman and
several new members of the Board of Trustees, and an addition to our professional staff. These changes are listed in this month’s
WTVP program guide, but I do want to extend a warm welcome to the new folks and acknowledge the contributions of those who end
their terms in office.
Our new Chairman of the Board is Andrew Rand, President & CEO of Advanced Medical Transport. He
succeeds Wayne Baum, Chairman of CORE Construction, who completes two years in office but remains on the Board. These two
extremely hard-working and dedicated men continue to give unstintingly of their time and talent to keeping WTVP strong and
relevant. I look forward to working for Andrew and sharing his enthusiasm and dedication, and I am most grateful to Wayne for
his leadership and example. WTVP is most fortunate to merit the attention of these two consummate professionals.
A significant loss from the Board of Trustees is Ross Canterbury. Ross rotates off the Board after
17 years of service during which he filled several positions including Chairman. Over the years, Ross was sought for his
levelheaded advice, good humor and friendship. He was sage, counselor and friend, and leaves a significant vacuum on the
Board.
On a positive note, I am most pleased to welcome Jennifer Davis to the professional staff as
our new Development Director. If her name sounds familiar it is likely from seeing her by-line in the Peoria Journal Star
where she was a reporter and editor of the “lifestyles” section. Jenni replaces Phil Zeni who retired in March.
Though Trustees, volunteers and staff change on a regular basis, the one constant is you.
We are all mightily aware of your importance as a viewer and as a contributor to WTVP. Everything we do is for you. Everything
we do is made possible by you. Thank you.
