Get your snow shovels and snoods ready because the weather service is predicting a
winter colder and wetter than usual. Sounds perfect for some quality time with your television and WTVP.
We’re getting an early start on the holidays and a winter filled with memorable
programming with outstanding entertainment during the December membership drive. The nights of early December will
be filled with a veritable cornucopia of musical stars – from Andrea Bocelli to Buddy Holly, from Daniel O’Donnell
to Paul Simon, from Celtic Woman to Lawrence Welk, and, from Placido Domingo to … well there is no comparison to
Placido Domingo. And if you overindulge, we can even offer you comfort with The Mayo Clinic Diet.
And for the sports fans among you, we are proud to again be the sole local broadcaster
for Bradley Men’s Basketball on WTVP World, Channel 47.2. For
those with Comcast digital cable, that’s Channel 218, and Channel 122 on Mediacom digital cable.
If you enjoy these and all the other programs on public television, I encourage you to
renew your annual membership in WTVP or even to make an additional gift as we get to the end of the calendar year.
And when you send in your check or make your pledge online at
www.wtvp.org, please leave a comment on how we
can improve our programming and service to best suit you. Our goal is to transform the value and expectations you and
members like you have of WTVP and public television.
Finally, on behalf of the Board of Trustees and the staff of WTVP, best wishes for a happy,
healthy and safe holiday season to you and yours. We are grateful for your ongoing support and look forward to serving
you in the coming year.
