Telling Our Local Stories

April gets off to an exciting start with new productions from our partnership with WILL. Inspired by the national series, Cancer: The Emperor of All Maladies, our production teams are working together to tell the stories of doctors, scientists and patients right here in Central Illinois who are making incredible strides in cancer research and treatment. Tune in Thursday, April 2 starting at 8 p.m. for the premiere of these three local specials.

We are also pleased to bring a bit of local history to the airwaves in partnership with Caterpillar Inc. Softball season starts April 9 at 7 p.m. on WTVP as we premiere a new program on The Caterpillar Dieselettes, CAT's award-winning women's fast-pitch softball team.

And I'm told that not even new seasons of Call the Midwife, Mr. Selfridge and Wolf Hall on Masterpiece can beat the drama of the bidding action during the WTVP Auction. I'm looking forward to my first time on the Auction floor and encourage all of you to "watch, bid & buy" April 23-26.

Thank you to all of you who called in during our on-air membership drive. Your continued investment in WTVP provides daily dividends for the entire community.
