Nightly Business Report to Return to Previous
Timeslot
Wednesday, October 8th, 2008
After moving Nightly Business Report to 10:30 p.m. on Oct. 1,
WTVP will return it to its previous timeslot of 5:30 p.m.
beginning Monday, Oct. 13. The move was precipitated by changes
in the BBC World News schedule and the desire of WTVP to bring
the most up-to-date news from abroad to its viewers.
“The decision was made before the financial climate in the
United States and the world deteriorated,” according to Linda
Miller, WTVP Vice President of Programming. “But as the
situation began to unfold, it was clear that viewers were
anxious to have breaking news from their most trusted sources –
from Paul Kangas, Susie Gharib and the team at NBR. Viewers
wanted the broadcast at 5:30, the time the show feeds on a daily
basis, instead of at a later hour.”
WTVP appreciates the calls and messages from loyal Nightly
Business Report watchers, and is happy that the change can be
accommodated. “We listen to what our viewers have to say. It’s
important that we give them every opportunity to stay abreast of
rapidly changing events and critical decisions being made that
effect us all,” said Miller.
