WTVP to Feature Musical Specials During May

Friday, May 1st, 2009

WTVP will feature a wide variety of new musical specials during the month of May on WTVP 47.1.

• Live from Lincoln Center presents “New York City Ballet’s ‘Romeo and Juliet’”—Peter Martins’ interpretation of Prokofiev's beloved ballet—Thursday, May 21 from 7-9:30 p.m.

• Great Performances presents “Lights Up: In the Heights on Broadway”—a new program that follows the cast and creative team of the Tony Award-winning In the Heights as they embark on the production of an original musical—Wednesday, May 27 from 7-8 p.m.

• Lawrence Welk: God Bless America looks at the nation’s history through the experiences of the famous bandleader—Saturday, May 30 from 7-9:30 p.m.

• My Music: My Generation—The 60s features essential ‘60s folk rock, R&B, and pop hits from the decade of change, peace, love and protest music—Saturday, May 30 from 9:30-11:30 p.m.

• Andre Rieu: In Wonderland, a fascinating, magical special, features stunning melodies by Andre Rieu, his orchestra, choir and guest soloists—Sunday, May 31 from 4-6 p.m.

• Celtic Woman: The Greatest Journey features a collection of beloved and memorable highlights from Celtic Woman's acclaimed PBS specials—Sunday, May 31 from 6-8 p.m.
