Inspector Lewis Returns to Masterpiece Mystery!

Kevin Whatley returns to Masterpiece Mystery! as Inspector Lewis in a third season of the hit detective series. In five new 90-minute episodes, Lewis and his young partner DS Hathaway (Laurence Fox) continue solving cases in the seemingly perfect academic haven of Oxford. Episodes air Sundays at 8:00 p.m. and are repeated Thursdays at 9:00 p.m..

• "Counter Culture Blues" - Thursday, Sept. 2 While on a routine disturbance call, Lewis is shocked to encounter a rock star he once idolized, who was believed to have died years ago. Joanna Lumley (Absolutely Fabulous) guest stars as the sultry singer.

• "The Dead of Winter" - Sunday, Sept. 5 The discovery of a body on an Oxford bus leads Lewis and Hathaway to a sprawling Oxford estate where Hathaway spent much of his childhood. Nathaniel Parker (The Inspector Lynley Mysteries) guest stars.

• "Dark Matter" - Sunday, Sept. 12 When the Master of Gresham College is found dead at the foot of the University Observatory stairs, Lewis and Hathaway find that the finger of suspicion points at the staff.

• "Your Sudden Death Question" - Sunday, Sept. 19 Lewis and Hathaway investigate the murder of a quiz competition contestant during a quiet summer holiday at an empty Oxford campus.

• "Falling Darkness" - Sunday, Sept. 26 When two murders share a link with their own Doctor Hobson, Lewis and Hathaway try to clear her name. Rupert Graves (The Forsyte Saga) guest stars.
