Adventure

Oct. 7 – Tonight’s show visits the LaSalle County
Historical Society Museum in Utica, housed in a warehouse
built in 1848 and now home to exhibits that remind visitors
of events that left their imprint on both this region and
the nation; tours the Pierre Menard Home State Historic Site
in Ellis Grove; and, goes to New Philadelphia to learn the
story of a town founded in the 1830s as a path to freedom.

Oct. 14 – Our destinations include the village of
Elsah, a place that seems like it was bypassed by time;
Yorkville, home to the state's largest water park; Principia
College, located on the bluffs of western Illinois; and
Peoria, where an observatory is located on a Peoria golf
course.

Oct. 21 – We’ll tour a most unconventional home whose
design was inspired by Physical Culture; visit a place that
celebrates a unique form of American music and the man most
associated with that style; visit the birthplace of one of
Illinois’s most popular generals; and, visit the home of an
organization where all the nation’s great show palaces are
remembered.
Illinois Adventure, hosted by Jim
Wilhelm and produced by William Baker, generally airs on
Thursdays at 8 p.m. and is repeated the following Sundays at 4
p.m.
