UPDATE: Public Broadcasting Needs Your Help NOW!

Wednesday night, Representative Earl Blumenauer (D-OR), Chairman of the Public Broadcasting Caucus, offered an amendment to the FY 2011 Continuing Resolution (CR) to restore funding for public broadcasting at FY 2010 levels. Unfortunately, the amendment was not allowed to proceed for a vote before the full House for procedural reasons. As a result, there is a strong likelihood that the House will pass this FY 2011 CR Thursday or Friday with no funding for public broadcasting included. The next opportunity for public broadcasting’s supporters to counter the House action is when the issue moves to the Senate during the week of February 28.
I urge you to call your Senators to let them know your feelings about the issue….and it is not too late to call your Congressmen.
