Dastardly deeds and super sleuths—
Masterpiece Mystery! is
back for a summer full of the best British whodunits. Beginning June 19, seven all-new shows are led by three great
detectives—Hercule Poirot (the persnickety and perceptive Belgian detective), Miss Marple (her gentle smile
hides her probing mind), and modern-day Italian detective Aurelio Zen.
First, David Suchet returns as suave Belgian super-sleuth
Hercule Poirot
in three brand-new mysteries based on the novels by Agatha Christie.
Then, acclaimed British actress Julia McKenzie stars as the beloved spinster sleuth
Miss Marple
in a new episode of the popular Agatha Christie’s Miss Marple series.
And swoon-worthy Rufus Sewell joins the line-up of gifted gumshoes in the three-part miniseries,
“Zen.”
What does an honest cop do when his bosses are on the side of the lawbreakers? Outwitting prosecutors, politicians,
mobsters, and run-of-the-mill kidnappers and killers, Detective Aurelio Zen brings justice to modern-day Italy, whether
the authorities want it or not. Based on the bestselling novels by Michael Dibdin.
Masterpiece Mystery! airs Sundays at 8:00 p.m. with encores of each episode following
on Thursdays at 9:00 p.m. on 47.1.
