In fact, Bach’s harmonic, melodic and rhythmic concepts became the founding principles of most jazz composing and improvising, and continue to influence jazz in the 21st century.

Hear for yourselves as world-renown pianist and composer Edward Kaizer takes viewers on a swinging journey of musical discovery through a series of his own arrangements that “jazzmatize” Bach’s original works and inspire his fellow musicians to “Bachmatize” their improvs.

Joined by Ed Kaizer on bass, Nick Kaizer on trumpet, Lynn Kaizer on vocals, Tim Holl on flute, and Matt Warren on drums, Edward takes the lead—for the band and audience—from his seat at the piano.

This new concert special premieres Sunday, August 14 at 7:00 p.m on WTVP 47.1. It is the first of two music fusion programs with the Kaizers taped this summer in front of a live audience in the WTVP Studio.
