Jason Isaacs (Harry Potter, The Patriot) stars as private investigator Jackson Brodie, a tough former soldier and policeman with a heart of gold, in Masterpiece Mystery! “Case Histories.” Based on the acclaimed novels by Kate Atkinson, this three-part series wraps up the “Summer of Intrigue” on Sundays, October 16-30 from 8-10 p.m.

Haunted by a past family tragedy, Brodie struggles to balance his personal and professional life while coming to the rescue of the bereaved, the lost and the dysfunctional in the Scottish city of Edinburgh.

Oct. 16—Jackson takes on the cold case of a girl who went missing thirty years earlier. He is also talked into helping a grieving father find the man who murdered his daughter.

Oct. 23—The only witness to a drowning in the Firth of Forth, Jackson is on a desperate search for the victim’s identity when he meets a crime novelist caught in a road rage incident.

Oct. 30—Jackson is injured in a train wreck and acquires a teenage sidekick who saves his life and insists that he return the favor by finding her missing employer.
