Former “Jersey Boys” Crooners Perform hits from the ’40s, ’50s and ’60s
Sunday, August 19th at 9:30 p.m. on WTVP-HD.
Under the Streetlamp,
America’s hottest new vocal group, performs an electrifying evening of classic hits from the American radio songbook
in this special recorded at the Star Plaza Theatre in Merrillville, Indiana. Exuding the irresistible rapport of a
modern-day Rat Pack, the quartet — recent leading cast members of the Tony® Award-winning musical Jersey Boys —
deliver an evening of unforgettable entertainment. Featuring doo-wop, Motown, old time rock ‘n’ roll and favorite
songs from the Drifters, the Beach Boys, the Beatles, the Four Seasons and many others, Under the Streetlamp
has been added to the WTVP schedule this Sunday, August 19th from 9:30-11 p.m. on WTVP-HD.
The members of Under the Streetlamp — Michael Cunio, Michael Ingersoll, Christopher Kale Jones and
Shonn Wiley — have been featured on Broadway, in film and on television, and were showcased on “The Tonight Show
With Jay Leno,” “The Emmy® Awards” and “The Oprah Winfrey Show” during their Jersey Boys tenure. Accompanied by a
band of seven elite musicians, Under the Streetlamp has packed concert venues across America. They are, without
a doubt, a modern classic.
Songs include “Rock ‘n’ Roll Is Here to Stay,” “At Last,” “Pretty Woman,” “Sh-Boom,” “Devil in
Disguise,” “Blue Moon,” “Twist and Shout,” “Since I Fell for You” and many more, delivered in the inimitable Under
the Streetlamp style, with tight harmonies and slick dance moves that are hip and straight-up cool.
Shonn Wiley is the kind of nostalgic entertainer who seems to have stepped right out of a classic
Hollywood musical. His elegant charm and timeless voice dazzle in “When You’re Smilin’.” This Michigan boy with
all the moves also serves as the group’s choreographer.
Michael Ingersoll is a Dayton, Ohio-born artist and entrepreneur who inspires and invites with an
affable magnetism. Michael’s grounded musical style exudes all the sincerity, warmth, and generosity of the
rockabilly/rhythm & blues greats.
Michael Cunio is definitely the rocker of the group. He continually beguiles and exhilarates audiences
with his edgy charisma and suave confidence. Cunio’s electric vocals will have audiences leaping to their feet in
“Twist and Shout.”
Christopher Kale Jones is blessed with the gift of an extraordinarily emotive and soulful voice. His
musical approach is brimming with quiet intensity, haunting beauty and palpable longing. The Hawaiian native’s impressive
singing range soars in the passionate and poignant ballad “Since I Fell for You.”
