The Worldwide Day of Play

-WTVP is teaming with the Children’s Discovery Museum to celebrate the power of play, healthy living, education and community building on Saturday, September 29th in Normal-

Imagine a whole day dedicated to good old fashioned play. WTVP and the Children’s Discovery Museum are coming together to make “The Worldwide Day of Play” possible. Starting Saturday morning, September 29th, at 11am and lasting until 3pm in the afternoon, WTVP’s mobile production truck will be open for tours at the ‘Uptown Block Party’ on E. Beaufort St. in Normal, just outside the Children’s Discovery Museum. Experience the special effects of a Green Screen, pick up goodies from your favorite PBS KIDS shows, and possibly meet some of your favorite characters! The event is free and open to the public.

Stay updated on WTVP happenings throughout the event on the station’s Facebook page and Twitter feed. Find us on Facebook (www.facebook.com/wtvp.org), or follow us on Twitter (@WTVP). Each new “like” or follower will receive a free gift when they stop by the WTVP booth during the event. (Must be present to win.)

The Block Party will also feature nearly 30 street vendors, stage activities, storytime, musical entertainment and more. The public is encouraged to attend this free event in front of the museum to experience the transformational power of play with WTVP and numerous other “play partners.”
