Episode #2814 -
A Senseless Rise in Heroin Deaths
Brad Ford's broken finger led to abuse of pain killers, which in turn resulted in his addiction to heroin, which he says was easy to find. He discusses his recovery along with counselors from McLean and Peoria Counties. Dr. Tamara Olt formed the Jolt Foundation, designed to help families cope with relatives who use heroin, after her son died of a heroin overdose. And law enforcement agencies have formed a task force to aggressively prosecute heroin dealers. It is all the focus of this edition of At Issue.
