WTVP Community Broadcasting Advisory Council
Outline of
Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES
a. Review the programming goals, services and
significant policy decisions rendered by the station.
b. Advise the governing body of the station
with respect to whether programming and programming policies
are meeting the specialized educational and cultural needs
of the communities being served.
c. Make such recommendations as it considers
appropriate to meet such needs.

SCOPE
a. The role of the Council shall be solely
advisory in nature.
b. Meetings must be open to the public

STATION’S EXPECTATIONS OF THE COUNCIL
a. To provide more information about
community needs.
b. To provide new or different perspectives
on problems, needs and solutions.
c. Regular meetings provide continuity of
feedback to the station.
d. Coming from different backgrounds, members
provide new insights for program, policy and service
decisions.
e. Provide feedback from and outreach to the
broader community.

MEETINGS
Meetings are held at least two or three times
a year. It is recommended that the Council meet in October
and January, and meet in conjunction with the Illinois
Valley Public Telecommunications Board of Trustees at their
annual meeting in June.
