H Wayne Wilson, ModeratorIn partnership with the League of Women Voters and the Institute for Principled Leadership in Public Service at Bradley University, WTVP hosted a live debate with candidates Greg Aguilar, Cheri Bustos and George Gaulrapp, who are vying for the newly drawn IL 17th Congressional District seat. The debate was held on Thursday, March 15 from 7-8:30 p.m.

The moderator for the evening was WTVP Public Affairs Consultant H Wayne Wilson. Panelists included Alex Rusciano, WCBU-FM News Reporter, Roger Ruthhart, Managing Editor The Dispatch / The Rock Island Argus / QCOnline, Moline, Ill., and Heather Swick, Editor-in-Chief, Bradley Scout (Bradley University student newspaper).

:

"Unofficial results from 14 counties that make up the 17th District had Bustos with 18,248 votes, or 56 percent. Greg Aguilar, the multicultural services coordinator at Augustana College, was a distant second with 7,483 votes, or 23 percent. In third was Freeport Mayor George Gaulrapp with 6,613 votes, or 20 percent. All but 19 of the district's 696 precincts had reported late Tuesday."
