Illinois 17th Congressional District Candidate Debate

For the 11/06/2012 General Election

In partnership with the League of Women Voters and the Institute for Principled Leadership in Public Service at Bradley University, WTVP hosted a live debate between the candidates vying for the IL 17th Congressional District seat-incumbent Bobby Schilling-R and challenger Cheri Bustos-D-scheduled on Thursday, October 25 at 8 p.m.

The debate was broadcast live in the Peoria area on WTVP and WCBU 89.9FM Peoria Public Radio. It was also broadcast in the Quad Cities on WQPT-TV and WVIK-FM, and nationally on C-SPAN. The program was also streamed live online and archived here at www.wtvp.org.

Moderator for the evening was WTVP Public Affairs Consultant H Wayne Wilson. Panelists were Alex Rusciano, news reporter for WCBU-FM Peoria Public radio, Herb Trix, news director for WVIK-FM Augustana Public Radio in Rock Island, and Camille Ivy-O'Donnell, a journalism student at Bradley University.
