Lincoln and Douglas at Galesburg—The Great Debate
This
new Knox College/WTVP production looks at the three-hour,
October 1858 U.S. Senatorial Debate between Democratic
incumbent Stephen A. Douglas and Republican challenger
Abraham Lincoln on the issues of slavery and popular
sovereignty—Thursday, Sept. 11 from 8:10-9 p.m.

At Issue WTVP’s
public affairs series
At Issue
will launch its 21st season on Thursday, Sept. 18 with a
look at the 1908 Springfield riots and the birth of the
NAACP. Then on Sept. 25, the program will present an
interview with Peoria Mayor Jim Ardis. The half-hour
programs, hosted by H Wayne Wilson, air on Thursdays at 8:30
p.m. and are repeated on Sundays at 4:30 p.m. |

Illinois Adventure
travels to the Lincoln Log Cabin State Historic Site on
Thursday, Sept. 18 at 8 p.m. and to the Quad-Cities area to
learn about the history of Arsenal Island and tour the
museum on Sunday, Sept. 28 at 4 p.m. Illinois Adventure,
hosted by Jim Wilhelm and produced by William Baker,
generally airs on Thursdays at 8 p.m. and is repeated the
following Sundays at 4 p.m. |
