Celebrate the
new school year with the wealth of information now available
on the WTVP and PBS websites!
WTVP Online
The
WTVP Online
leads to a wealth of information guaranteed to keep
educators, students, and entire families engaged and
informed. And now you can also view online video of selected
local productions—like
Illinois Adventure,
At Issue and
Interesting People - as
well as a variety of PBS shows.
By clicking on “TV
Schedule,” you’ll find the entire schedule for our analog as
well as our digital channels—and by clicking on individual
programs, you’ll uncover the episode topics, descriptions,
and educational taping rights. “Programs A to Z” will link
you to national and local websites, and “Search TV
Schedules” will allow you to find out when a specific
program is scheduled to air.
By clicking on “Programming” on
the homepage, you’ll discover further resources including
online video of selected local and national productions, an
opportunity to search for resources on PBS Teachers, a look
at copyright and “fair use” guidelines, and a chance to read WTVP’s current newsletters.
The WTVP web site also
highlights special tips for parents, station news, upcoming
events and opportunities, and links to the best of the net,
including pbs.org.
PBS Teachers The
PBS Teachers
web site provides an exciting variety
of resources and tools to help educators make the most of
media in teaching and learning. The site features thousands
of free lesson plans, classroom activities, interactives and
more — aligned to national and state curriculum standards
and organized by subject, grade level, and curriculum topic.
PBS recently expanded PBS Teachers to include a new online
education community.
PBS Teachers
Connect
provides educators with opportunities to engage, connect,
contribute, and grow professionally while supporting the
advancement of digital media content and technology
integration in the home- and school-learning environment.
There are dedicated areas for preK-12 teachers, librarians,
technology coordinators, early childhood educators, and
other instructional leaders.

PBS KIDS GO! Broadband This
fall,
PBS KIDS GO! will expand to
include online clips and full episodes of more than a dozen
PBS KIDS GO! series, including
Arthur,
WordGirl, and
Cyberchase. As part of this expansion,
clips will be connected to games targeting a variety of
educational goals, giving kids a chance to watch and play on
the same screen.
