AND THE
WINNERS ARE … |
|
|
WTVP Is Proud to Announce 12 Winners and 2 Honorable Mentions in the PBS KIDS GO! Writers Contest.
A mysterious and frightening feline holds the neighborhood in suspense. A collection of silly garden gnomes comes to life to wreak havoc on their household. A walk through the year from spring rains to playing in the snow. New friends who are "helping the world become a better place one idea at a time."
These are just a few of the award-winning stories written by Central Illinois students for WTVP’s "PBS KIDS GO! Writers Contest." The station is pleased to announce the following winners and their stories.

Congratulations to Meriah!
Meriah Nicole Fearon, a Peoria grade-schooler, has won First Place in the First Grade category at the national level of the PBS KIDS GO! Writers Contest!
Meriah’s magnificently
illustrated story, "Naughty Gnomes," is a
delightful rhymed tale of the misadventures of a
group of garden gnomes that come to life when no
one’s looking. The story was inspired by her
sister’s extensive gnome collection, and her
fantastic artistic ability is, no doubt,
inherited from her mother, an artist and art
teacher herself |
