AT ISSUE - WTVP 47's ongoing, locally produced public affairs
program. Hosted by series producer H Wayne Wilson, this weekly show examines issues of
importance to the people of Central Illinois. One week might feature a look at how
education is financed in the state, another might give viewers a chance to ask questions
of a local mayor or sheriff. All AT ISSUE programs provide vital
information to our viewers--whether that be about problems at the Peoria Housing
Authority, issues of joint cooperation between governmental units, or riverfront
development on both sides of the Illinois River. AT ISSUE is just one
more way that WTVP 47 serves you through public television. |

become a cornerstone of WTVP's local programming. Shot on location
throughout the state, ILLINOIS ADVENTURE shows WTVP viewers the

home. From fishing on Lake Michigan, to searching out tree frogs in the
Cache River swamp, to visiting long forgotten towns that are vital parts
of Illinois' history, there's something for everyone here. Partially
underwritten by the generous people at Country Insurance & Financial Services in Bloomington, ILLINOIS
ADVENTURE is traveling the highways and byways of our state for you. |

Lessons Beyond Medicine -
In Lessons Beyond Medicine, WTVP looks back at the growth of the Peoria-based college, one of four campuses of the University of Illinois College of
Medicine, from its first two-room office at the then-First National Bank building to today's expansion of world-class research facilities.
The special explores the many ways in which the College of Medicine affects Central Illinois, including the only full-service HIV/AIDS
clinic, assistance at community health clinics, medical care at autism and cerebral palsy centers, a clinic for abused children and a rural
physicians training program. |

MAIN STREET MEMORIES:
WTVP 47's nostalgic look back at Peoria in the 30's, 40's, and 50's is just one example of
the outstanding special programs that we've produced over the last 25 years. Did you know
that WTVP 47 was the first station to televise Bradley Basketball, or Rivermen Hockey? The
Peoria Symphony, the Civic Chorale, the Central Illinois Youth Symphony, and the Peoria
Ballet have all performed on WTVP 47 specials. And music isn't our only area of interest.
From THE LEGACY PROJECT to DUTY FIRST we provide
our viewers and members with thought-provoking and entertaining programming produced
through membership dollars. |
