And the 2016 Winners Are...

A young Tiger and Dinosaur play all day and wreck the house. A small acorn named Bob finds a new home with the help of friends. Freckles the Dog takes a drive.

And we learn how important school is once you become an adult.

These delightful, imaginative plotlines are from just a few of the winning stories from WTVP-Public Media’s 2016 PBS KIDS Writers Contest.
WTVP is pleased to announce our local winners and honorable mentions. Click on the book cover to read each story.

In Memory of Stacey Tomczyk

This year’s contest will be dedicated to the memory of Stacey Tomczyk, WTVP Programmer and the driving force behind this special annual celebration, who passed away April 30. “Stacey was particularly effective with children’s projects – she spoke their language and had a way of communicating with them that was a joy to behold,” said WTVP President and CEO Moss Bresnahan. “She had a wonderful spirit and will remain a part of us all forever.”
