YOU’RE GOING TO LOVE WHAT’S COMING IN 2022

We are just halfway through our 50th anniversary year and I am excited to bring you news about more great programming and services from WTVP in 2022. There will be much to educate, entertain and inspire you in the months ahead.

LOCAL PROGRAMMING. At Issue, Consider This, Business Forward and A Shot of Ag will remain at the heart of our local programming line-up, bringing you fresh voices and perspectives on issues affecting us all. You can also look forward to a new, locally produced regional adventure program called Backyard Journeys, local productions on important environmental issues and the history of McLean County, and a new season of great music on State & Water.

NEW SEASONS OF FAVORITES. From PBS and other content providers, WTVP will bring you new seasons of All Creatures Great and Small, Sanditon, Vienna Blood, COBRA and Expedition with Steve Backshall. Watch for new seasons of favorites like Finding Your Roots, Antiques Roadshow, American Experience, NOVA, Nature and more. And the best children’s programming on the planet will get even better in the year ahead.

OTHER DEVELOPMENTS. A recent off-air development that will continue to be felt in 2022 is the acquisition of Peoria Magazine and its signature community events. This strategic move is an excellent fit with WTVP’s community-focused mission, creating more opportunities to educate, entertain, engage and inspire all ages throughout our region. Watch for a reconstituted print and online business magazine and other exciting developments in Spring 2022.

Four of Peoria Magazine's signature events and community outreach programs will continue to serve the business community and residents of Central Illinois under the management and direction of WTVP:

  • 40 Leaders Under Forty — An annual celebration of emerging leadership honoring the region's rising young stars at a prestigious community reception.
  • Local Legends — The recognition reception inspires others to live out their legacies every day by telling the stories of legendary leaders in the region.
  • Women of Influence — Each year, the Women of Influence forum and recognition program highlights area women who are making a difference in Central Illinois. The half-day forum features speakers, breakout sessions and panel discussions.
  • Community Impact Guide — A highly anticipated annual publication highlighting the extraordinary work of Central Illinois' nonprofit community, from health and human services to the arts, environment and education.

Count on WTVP to continue as an active participant in your daily life as the 50th anniversary celebration continues. Members like you and this wonderful community make it possible. Stick with WTVP — there’s much more in 2022.
