Note from the President and CEO | December 2024

In 1963 Edward Pola and George Wyle captured the sentiment of season in their popular song, "The Most Wonderful Time of Year," made famous by singer Andy Williams:
“…with the kids’ jingle-belling and everyone telling you be of good cheer, it’s the most wonderful time of the year!”
This is indeed a wonderful season. We gather to sing songs, celebrate faith and family, and practice sacred traditions passed down through generations.
At WTVP PBS we are privileged to bring you only the best in holiday programming to enhance your time with loved ones and inspire celebration. There is no candy cane fluff here! We offer content designed to help you slow down, reflect, and savor the sounds, stories and sentiments of this special season.
This month we bring you the very best in sacred music including mesmerizing choral performances from Purdue University, Hope College, Concordia University, and The Tabernacle. We shine a spotlight on local talent with The WTVP High School Choral Showcase featuring performances from Metamora Township High School Madrigal Singers and Washington Community High School Madrigal Singers. The sounds of the season continue with specials from Mannheim Steamroller, The United States Air Force, Brenda Lee, Lawrence Welk and many, many more. We hope you’ll tune in often with a warm cup of holiday cheer and join us for this special month of programming.
I wish you peace and happiness in your celebrations of Christmas, Hannukah and Kwanzaa. Thank you for making WTVP part of your holidays!
With gratitude,
The station you love is not going anywhere! But with historic federal funding gone, we are looking to the community to join us in the WE BELIEVE in WTVP campaign to fuel a strong future. When you increase your giving, become a member for the first time, or double your donation, your gift will be matched – up to $300,000! Thank you for helping us close the gap and keep our station strong!
