Experience an incredible story of environmental change in the Sacramento Valley as robust bird populations and salmon runs are revitalized. This modernized infrastructure restored 90 miles of Butte Creek and led local farmers to allow their fields to be flooded each summer after harvest. By slowing down the river system and spreading the water across a portion of the historic floodplain, these local farmers are enabling habitat restoration for fish and birds.

Mike Rowe narrates the documentary, which traces the changes coming to America’s agriculture as more people choose farmers’ markets, embrace farm-to-table restaurants and dedicate their lives to building local, regional food supply systems.
