Masterpiece continues to captivate and delight audiences with the tale of Victorian England’s first female sleuth and the story of the survival of a plantation slave named July.

Episode Memento Mori - A photographer specializing in post-mortem portraits gets menacing messages from beyond the grave. Eliza’s investigation takes her into the spirit world.

This three-part miniseries follows July (Tamara Lawrance), an indomitable young slave woman who works on a sugarcane plantation with her detestable mistress, Caroline Mortimer (Hayley Atwell). Their lives change with the arrival of the charming new overseer, Robert Goodwin (Jack Lowden), who sets out to improve the plantation for both the slaves and the mistress.

Episode #2 - In early 1800s Jamaica, Caroline adopts the child slave July as her maid. July grows up to witness the Christmas Rebellion and the radical transformation of her world.
