Each episode of the weekly series features an intimate, invitation-only concert by cutting-edge, contemporary musicians, along with artist interviews and insights about the unusual venues chosen. Initially a series of private living room concerts, the Artist's Den has expanded to include unforgettable performances across North America and Europe by some of today's most significant names in music, in some of the most interesting, off-the-beaten-path locations imaginable. LIVE FROM THE ARTIST'S DEN gives public television audiences a front row seat and behind-the-scenes look at these once-in-a-lifetime events.

Each summer, the world-renowned Vienna Philharmonic is joined by a guest soloist to perform an enchanting open-air concert under the direction of a guest conductor from the magnificent gardens of Austria's Imperial Schonbrunn Palace, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site.

Jeff Peterson and North Carolina State Orchestra - Raleigh Civic Chamber Orchestra perform the first composed concerto for slack key guitar and orchestra. The concerto features three volcanoes in Hawaii--Haleakalā, Kīlauea and Mauna Loa--located in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.
