New Music | January 2026

Ring in the New Year with the Vienna Philharmonic at the world-famous Musikverein, with Hugh returning as host. The celebrations showcase the virtuosic dancing of the Vienna City Ballet performed on location in sumptuous Vienna landmarks.
Following a string of awe-inspiring Met performances, soprano Lise Davidsen stars as Leonore, who risks everything to save her husband from the clutches of tyranny. Tenor David Butt Philip is the political prisoner Florestan, sharing the stage with bass-baritone Tomasz Konieczny as the villainous Don Pizarro, veteran bass Rene Pape as the jailer Rocco, and soprano Ying Fang and tenor Magnus Dietrich, in his company debut, as the young Marzelline and Jaquino. Bass Stephen Milling sings the principled Don Fernando, and Susanna Malkki conducts the Met's striking production, which finds modern-day parallels in Beethoven's stirring paean to freedom.
Classical Tahoe season four features six new episodes of orchestral music from a world-class group of musicians. The artists come to Lake Tahoe from various locations across the globe to perform at the highest level while also enjoying the sublime beauty of this region. In season four, the beautiful setting and dynamic staging are back, but some of the faces are new. Conductors Daniela Candillari and Ruth Reinhardt make their debuts at the festival, and soloists Emmanuel Ceysson (harp), Gilles Vonsattel (piano) and Tessa Lark (violin) light up the stage.

Fan-favorites make magnetic Austin City Limits debuts: Pop star Renee Rapp delivers chart-toppers and kiss-off anthems from her LP BITE ME and acclaimed San Diego modern soul trio Thee Sacred Souls captivate with highlights from Got a Story to Tell.
Electrifying homegrown acts light up the stage in ACL debuts: South Carolina's Marcus King Band rocks fan-favorites and new tracks from Darling Blue, while Red Dirt country singer-songwriter Wyatt Flores shines with songs from Welcome to the Plains.
