REDISCOVERING THE JOY OF APPOINTMENT TELEVISION
Remember the phrase, “Everything old becomes new again”? I usually associate it with fashion trends. Recently, I purchased a dress that was a carbon copy of one I vividly remember my mom wearing in the late 80s. I was giddy to tell my mom and applaud her for her keen fashion sense back in the day.
Well, I have some good news…. appointment TV is making a comeback! Now you can enjoy the live stream of our broadcast channel on Amazon Prime’s Live Channels, as well as through the PBS Apps available on Roku and Xfinity.
There is something so easy and wonderful about not needing to choose what you want to watch but rather knowing that every time you turn on WTVP, something good will be on. It is simple and comfortable. Kind of like rediscovering that fall jacket you wore every day in college. And because WTVP only brings you the best in commercial-free programming, you can trust that every time you tune in, you are going to learn something new, connect with your community and walk away feeling inspired!
And speaking of being inspired…I cannot tell you how much your contributions, letters of encouragement and donations to the station have meant to us. We have welcomed over 500 new members to the WTVP family since July! As always, you can see the most up-to-date numbers on our We Believe in WTVP campaign at our website. Suffice to say, station memberships are fueling our future, and we are so grateful for your support and continued belief in WTVP.
Don’t forget…
- WTVP’s Spooktacular Open House is coming up on October 23 from 5–7pm. Costumed kiddos and their parents are invited to join us for this trunk-or-treat style event that includes story time, screenings of your favorite PBS kids Halloween episodes and of course…candy!
- If you know a young leader who is really making a difference in our community, please consider nominating them for WTVP’s 40 Leaders Under Forty award. Nominations will remain open through October 31.
With gratitude,
Jenn
