The Robert Convington Story

The powerful story of former NBA player Robert Covington, who, rooted in grit, faith and self-belief, defied the odds by transitioning from HBCU student to a decade-long career in the highest level of professional basketball. Finding his footing at Tennessee State University, he discovered not just his basketball potential but embraced the excellence and rich legacy of HBCUs.

A half-hour special examining the history of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Tournament, the nation's oldest and most profitable post-season basketball tournament featuring Historically Black Colleges and Universities, and the cultural, financial and revitalizing impacts of its 2023 relocation to the City of Baltimore.

Howard Women’s Basketball

In 1974, Howard University forms its first Women's Basketball team, creating new opportunities for women in sports and building a winning program. Fifty years later, players and coaches reflect on their legacy and the overall growth of women's sports while highlighting the continued struggle for equity in athletics.
