Resilient. This is the word that best describes the team here at WTVP PBS. Resilient teams don’t just tread water when they lose their life jackets—they swim in a new direction. They get stronger. They identify new strengths and new ways of doing things. They move on and they move forward.

This staff Believes in WTVP. We believe in the mission—to inspire and connect our community through quality content that educates, informs and entertains. We believe that providing free access to quality, commercial-free, locally-driven, good-for-you content lifts people of all ages in our community, inspiring them to live their best life in central Illinois! We believe that having a local public broadcasting station in a community our size is a true gift—one that impacts generations and cumulatively makes us smarter, healthier and more inclined to get involved and engaged with the community. That’s why the team at WTVP is leaning into this moment with tenacity and creativity to bring you two brand new locally produced shows:

Docs on Callwith Mark Welp debuts this month, featuring local medical experts answering community questions on timely health topics. New episodes will air the second and fourth Thursdays of the month at 8:30 p.m. Viewers are encouraged to write in and submit their questions.

Let’s Talk Mental Health will air on Sunday, September 14 at 6:00 p.m. Counselors from Trillium, OSF, BCM and The Antioch Group will be joining me in the studio for a candid conversation on a variety of strategies resources, and treatment approaches for a topic that affects nearly all of us, Dealing with Anxiety.

We are just at the start of our We Believe in WTVP fundraising campaign. But we are so excited and grateful to you,, our viewers and members for meeting us in this moment! Visit wtvp.org/webelieve for an up-to-date progress report on our matching gift campaign.

Ever onwards,

Jenn
