Ben Getz | Morton, Illinois

A humble leader and lifelong learner, Ben Getz attributes his success to mentors who have helped him along the way. Getz followed his first role models, his parents, into accounting and is currently the Director of Internal Audit Services at RLI Insurance Company. He has achieved many designations to further his professional career including CPA, CIA, CFE, CISA, CISSP, CPCU, and more. He has been with RLI since 2011 and has served as RLI’s lead IT auditor since 2015.

Getz remembers “The biggest professional challenge for me was taking on the responsibility of leading IT audits at RLI when there was an opening on our team. My background is in accounting, but I worked hard in skilling up in all things information technology to be competent enough to contribute. I'm proud of the partnership I've helped our team establish and maintain with our IT team to improve processes and better our organization.”

Getz sees a great leader as one who “recognizes the strengths of those they work with and works to put other people in a position where they can succeed individually and as a team.” He serves at his home parish of Blessed Sacrament in Morton volunteering in many different ways including the Parish Mission Committee, Finance Council, Fellowship Festival Committee, Blessed Family Ministry, and as Sunday Mass Instrumentalist. He also serves on Bradley University's Department of Accounting Advisory Council and the Central Illinois Institute of Internal Auditors Board of Governors.

Married to his lovely wife, Emily, and father to four beautiful children—Lucy, Cecilia, Stella, and Peter—Getz counts himself fortunate to get to raise a family in the Peoria area, among supportive family and friends all of whom he credits for the man he is today.
