40 Leaders Under Forty - class of 2024

Devon Knobloch | Princeville, Illinois

Vice President – Commercial Banking Officer, Fortress Bank

Devon Knobloch

A native of central Illinois, Devon Knobloch has worked in banking since graduating from Bradley University with a degree in accounting. He currently works as a Commercial Lender for Fortress Bank. Although his childhood dream was to be a professional basketball player, Knobloch says of banking, “I enjoy how this career gives me the ability to use my accounting background and still be in a sales role with the ability to help business owners within our community.”

Beyond his business achievements, Devon is noted for his character. Jeff Schieferle Uhlenbrock of Aupperle Construction writes, “I don’t want to understate his impact to our local businesses and organizations, but even greater than those things is the aura Devon brings into any group meeting, discussion, or endeavor. He’s THAT guy who changes the entire dynamic in ways you can’t describe without experiencing.”

Knobloch has been married to his wife, Leah, for 16 years and has three children. He coaches his kids’ sports teams and says, “We seem to spend much of our free time keeping up with our kids’ schedules!”

Devon is also active in his local church, Princeville Apostolic Christian Church, and believes that a great leader is “someone with a clear vision, that can effectively communicate this to their team members and make those team members feel motivated and inspired to work together!”

Knobloch spends his time volunteering with several local organizations and especially enjoys giving back to the community through his support of Midwest Food Bank, an organization that distributes food and relief locally and worldwide. Knobloch recalls his first introduction to the organization as a kid when his grandpa would take him along to pick up a load of food from Midwest Food Bank and deliver it to local food pantries. “This was a great experience as a kid,” Knobloch shares, “seeing the needs in our local community and the many people giving of their time and resources to help.” Knobloch now serves on the golf outing committee for the Peoria/Morton division each year saying, “This is an amazing organization that has continued to grow to help alleviate hunger and spread the love of Christ!”

A Love for Central Illinois:

Knobloch declares that central Illinois is “a great community to raise a family in…. It is big enough, but also small enough! It offers so much for those that live here….” And the traffic “is nothing compared to other areas of the country!”

Words of Wisdom:

“Continue to push yourself outside your comfort zone, build relationships and keep Jesus Christ as the foundation of your life.”
