40 Leaders Under Forty - class of 2024

Pierre Anyansi | Peoria, Illinois

Network Security Engineer, Advanced Medical Transport

Pierre Anyansi

Pierre Anyansi, a graduate of Illinois State University, is a Network Security Engineer at Advanced Medical Transport and the owner of an innovative, data-focused company called Any IT Support. Anyansi explains, “businesses in regulated fields are the most vulnerable to cyber compromise,” so his business focuses on a proactive approach toward hybrid, remote, and mobile businesses, “using secure methods of access to send and receive data.” Owning a business is a dream come true for Anyansi and he expects Any IT Support to become a major contributor to not only “solving our biggest headaches” in the global community, but also giving back to his community in Peoria.

Pierre Anyansi

Anyansi himself gives back by supporting a local homeless shelter on the weekends and teaching Fundamentals of IT and A+ Certification Courses at the Minority Business Development Center. This aligns with his passion to support those in need, which he specifies, “includes dedicating my time and efforts to organizations such as homeless shelters, children’s homes, prison rehabilitation programs, and under-resourced schools.”

Todd Baker with Advanced Medical Transport nominated Anyansi and writes, “His enthusiasm for education is infectious, and his commitment to student success is unparalleled. He takes the time to provide personalized, one-on-one guidance, ensuring each student receives superior instruction in a field he is genuinely passionate about.”

Words of Wisdom:

“Cultivate self-awareness, listen deeply, and speak thoughtfully.”

While Anyansi admits building a successful IT career came with its fair share of challenges, his belief that “true leadership lies in the ability to learn and grow” inspired him to work hard, persevere, and ultimately gain valuable experience and expertise. He says, “Effective leaders, while guiding others, must also be lifelong learners themselves.” Anyansi encourages mentorship as vital to this process as it provides “invaluable insights and guidance from experienced individuals.”

A Love for Peoria:

“I absolutely love the spring and fall seasons here. There’s always something exciting happening!”

Pierre’s life is driven by his personal vision: “Always stay true to yourself and the one who created you. Never forget the mission. The mission is to find solutions to problems that need to be solved.”
