Maxwell Schneider | Tremont, Illinois
Real Estate Broker, Keller Williams Premier Realty

Maxwell Schneider has wanted to lead and help people since early childhood. Inspired by family members in medicine, Schneider figured he would pursue the medical field also. However, after graduating from the University of Illinois, life took an unexpected turn, and, by the advice and encouragement of good friends and family, Schneider ended up working in real estate.
Schneider remembers the necessary self-reinvention in this season as one of the most difficult challenges he’s faced. He recounts, “I had an incredibly supportive wife and other great people who helped me start a new career in a new town. I owe a huge debt of gratitude to so many people in and around the industry who gave me a shot to build the business we have today.” Starting as a solo agent, Schneider now leads the Schneider Home group at Keller Williams, a top real estate team based in Tremont, IL.
Words of Wisdom:
“Everything will work out as it should, just be patient.”

Seeing his success as an opportunity to give back, Schneider’s group donates to over a dozen local charities and organizations. His real estate career has also allowed him to help people “with what is usually the largest purchase of their life.” Additionally, it allows Schneider the flexibility to serve in other areas of his community, including the Peoria Area Association of Realtors where he is a member of the Governmental Affairs Committee and serves as Legislative Liaison to a member of the Illinois General Assembly.
Formerly Vice President of the Tremont Rescue Board, member of the Tremont Area Park District Board, and zoning board in Tremont, Schneider was appointed to the Tazewell County Board in 2022 then subsequently elected to a full term. He serves as Chairman of the Property Committee and Vice Chairman of the Finance Committee, as well as Human Resources, Risk Management, Broadband, and Executive Committees. David Zimmerman describes Schneider as “personable, intelligent and kind. People are drawn to Max and look to him for guidance.”
An advocate for property tax reform and fiscal responsibility, Schneider shares that he is particularly passionate about expanding broadband internet access to the rural areas in the county and has finally reached the action stage of the process.
In his free time, Schneider enjoys spending time with his wife, Tressa, and his four children. His hobbies include spending time outdoors, playing golf, running, cycling and competing in triathlons.

Being around and even mentored by some of the greatest leaders in central Illinois, Schneider concludes, “There are two qualities I have noticed in people I would consider great leaders. The first quality is absolute honesty…The second quality is relationship building.”
A Love for Central Illinois:
“…We have so many economic opportunities in manufacturing, health care, agriculture, parks and recreational opportunities…the list goes on! There's a lot to love about central Illinois and I am very proud to be from here.”
