Molly Hogeboom | Peoria, IL
Community Engagement Manager | Easterseals Central Illinois

Described as a “cheerleader and advocate who paves ‘Yes Paths’ for others,” Molly Hogeboom is building a community where everyone belongs. She works as a Community Engagement Manager for Easterseals Central Illinois, overseeing community partnerships and outreach, volunteer engagement, signature fundraising events and inclusive programming. Jenn Domaszewicz and Danielle Easton of Easterseals note that Molly “expanded the Ability Awareness Program to reach over 7,500 students across 30+ schools each year, fostering a culture of understanding and acceptance. She manages the Ambassador Program, mentoring families to share their stories and inspire others and speaks regionally on inclusion and advocacy.”
Molly loves working for an organization that is impacting so many families. “Easterseals Central Illinois holds a very special place in my heart. Not only is it the organization where my passion for inclusion truly took root but it is also where I have seen firsthand the impact of early intervention, therapy and family-centered support. Being part of that mission—sharing stories of progress, building community awareness and connecting people to meaningful opportunities to give back—is incredibly fulfilling to me.”

Molly understands what it feels like to not have a voice. “For a long time, I held myself back from opportunities because I didn’t think I was good enough or worried about being judged if I tried and failed. Once I shifted that mindset, everything changed. I started saying yes, taking chances and trying things that helped me discover my strengths along the way. I went from being quiet and reserved—keeping myself in a box—to finding my voice.” Now, she creates platforms for others to be seen and heard.

“I am driven by the belief that no family should feel isolated while navigating disability, and that strong communities are built through shared understanding and collective support.”
Outside of her professional role, Molly also volunteers her time to advance accessibility throughout central Illinois. She has served on the Peoria Park District Accessible Playground Committee, Three Sisters Park Sensory-Friendly Team and CityLink ADA Committee.
Molly attributes her sense of humor to her mom and her “gift of gab” to her dad. “I admire [my mom’s] ability to find humor in everything. Leading with kindness is incredibly important but leading with humor opens the door to the very best moments.” She calls her dad “one of the hardest-working people I know...He has an incredible way of noticing the little things and finding opportunities to make someone’s day. That kind of impact goes a long way and stays with people.”
Anyone can tell that Molly is extremely proud of her “cute little family.” She calls her husband, Wes, “the engine that keeps our family running.” Their sons Shea (6) and Cameron (4) keep them busy and remind them of all the good in the world. “In this chapter of my life, my absolute favorite place to hang out is in my living room with my boys.”
