Adam Larck | Peoria, IL
Portfolio/Prospect Development Manager | OSF HealthCare Foundation

Adam Larck is driven to uncover the truth behind stories and people. He currently serves as a Portfolio/Prospect Development Manager for OSF HealthCare Foundation, a role that he hadn’t planned on but has ended up being an excellent fit.
Initially, Adam was interested in journalism, an interest that took hold in eighth grade. “We had started a newsletter in class and I loved finding a new way to have my voice heard.” He continued honing his skills as the Editor-in-Chief of the high school newspaper, then attended Eastern Illinois University, earning a degree in journalism with a minor in information systems.
After graduating, he took a series of jobs involving communications, including as an Editor for TimesNewspapers covering Dunlap, Morton and Woodford and as an Associate Communications Representative for Caterpillar. However, after applying for a communications position at OSF and being encouraged to consider research instead, Larck followed his own advice, “Don’t lock yourself in to just one role and never turn down opportunities,” and took up the challenge.
Adam has since thrived as a Portfolio and Prospect Development Manager, building and shaping the program into a vital part of the Foundation’s success. Wendy Mitchell notes that “Adam’s expertise in data science earned him finalist status in APRA International’s 2022 competition, and he now chairs APRA’s Membership Committee where he enhances member engagement. Additionally, his work in healthcare philanthropy was showcased in a 2024 presentation to the Association of Healthcare Philanthropy.”

Beyond his work at OSF, Adam continues to pursue his passion for writing and technology through freelance projects for a Las Vegas-based public relations firm and occasional technology reviews.
“Be flexible, don't lock yourself in to just one role and never turn down opportunities.”
Deeply involved in his community, Adam has served as School Board President for Pleasant Valley School District No. 62 since 2017 and actively supports Cedar Hills Baptist Church and Excel Christian Academy.

In 2013, Adam and his wife Amy lost everything in the Washington tornado. It was one of the most challenging times of their lives. “However, it taught me that no matter what, you can always start over and rebuild. By developing even small plans to get through the day-by-day and immediate aftermath of the disaster, we were able to rebuild better than before.”
The Larcks aren’t just rebuilding their own lives, they have been foster parents to more than 20 children. “I have a deep passion for trying to provide the best life for them as I can before their return home.” Adam acknowledges his wife’s key role in this ministry. “Through our years of foster care and trials together, she has helped be the support I needed through it all.” Their family is ever-changing and never boring with their three adopted kids, Ava, Asher and Alexander, four current foster children and three dogs whose names are Sophie, Norah and Happy. Together, they love to explore Illinois, spend time with extended family and support their children’s school activities and sports.
