Luke Rosenbohm | East Peoria, IL
Owner | Better Earth Logistics

Luke Rosenbohm’s journey is rooted in the belief that faith, family and community are the cornerstones of a meaningful life. As a child, he watched airplanes approach the Peoria Airport and dreamed of flying. When he grew up, Luke joined the Air National Guard, spending seven years as an enlisted crew chief before transitioning to commissioned officer. He flew the C-130 Hercules for eight years and was deployed four times to the Middle East, honing his leadership skills and deepening his understanding of sacrifice and courage.
Then Luke's life was upended as he faced a life-threatening health crisis. “As I battled through the uncertainty,” Luke recalls, “I was forced to come to terms with the reality that my career had come to an end. The sense of loss was immense.” During this season, Luke found strength in his faith, leaning on God and coming out with a new sense of purpose.
Already a volunteer with Greater Peoria Honor Flight (GPHF), Luke was selected as the President of the Board. He embraced his new role wholeheartedly, finding it filled the void left by retirement and allowed him to continue serving others in a meaningful way. Brent Edward Bixby, the Vice President of GPHF describes Luke’s impact on the organization. “In 2025, due to Luke's leadership, astute business schemes and unwavering dedication to the veterans of central Illinois, the Greater Peoria Honor Flight was able to accomplish five flights—a feat unparalleled on the national level.”

Luke loves interacting with the Vietnam Veterans whose advocacy changed the way service members return home. “Their legacy is one of strength and perseverance, ensuring that those who serve today receive the honor and appreciation they rightfully deserve. Their fight was not just for themselves but for generations to come.”
“Trust your judgment and embrace every obstacle along your journey. The challenges you face only make the final outcome that much more rewarding. In the end, you'll find yourself living a truly amazing life.”

Luke is also the founder and owner of two businesses. Better Earth Logistics picks up organic material from six counties in central Illinois so that it can be composted. And Game On Illinois offers a mobile gaming experience that is wheelchair accessible with adaptive and sensory controllers so kids of all abilities can play.
Luke and his wife, Yvonne have three boys, Jaxon (12), Murray (10) and Leo (4) who all love soccer and keep the Rosenbohm family busy with games and training. They love going to the Peoria Civic Center for Rivermen hockey games, Bradley basketball and the range of shows and exhibits throughout the year. As a husband, father, entrepreneur and community leader, Luke has demonstrated that true success is not measured by personal achievement but by the positive impact one can make in the lives of others.
