WTVP Announces New CEO

May 23, 2019 - For 47 years, WTVP has engaged, enhanced and inspired public television viewers in central Illinois. As part of that vision, we are pleased to announce a new addition to our leadership team, Lesley Matuszak as Chief Executive Officer.

Bringing her expertise in the non-profit sector to Illinois Valley Public Television is the next step in a strategic plan to lead WTVP successfully into the future.

Starting July 1st Matuszak will begin her leadership role at WTVP. Formerly of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Peoria she brings her knowledge in fundraising, management, marketing, financial and human resource functions to the organization.

This longtime Peorian has a passion for cultural arts and continuing education that lends itself well to the WTVP mission of promoting life-long learning, in fact she is currently studying for a master’s degree at Harvard University complimenting her MBA from Bradley. Matuszak’s critical thinking and adaptability will bring a refreshing transformation to the WTVP leadership team.

Matuszak originally hails from Pittsburgh but has called Peoria home since her days at Bradley University. Her involvement in the community has long been part of her personal goals with leadership roles in many organizations including: Align Peoria, River Cup Foundation, Greater Peoria Honor Flight (Co-founder and President), City of Peoria Historical Preservation Commission, Heart of Illinois United Way, Toastmasters International along with the Boys & Girls Clubs.

She and her husband of 38 years Mark have raised two grown children here in Peoria.

WTVP has a long history of high-quality content and occupies a unique position in the media marketplace. WTVP is among the few remaining locally owned media outlets in the region. The WTVP team has continually demonstrated commitment to the region with many outstanding, award-winning local programs and community services. WTVP is honored to welcome Lesley Matuszak to the public media family in central Illinois.
