You only think you have seen every possible version of this classic Shakespeare comedy. This one, recorded during its final week at Free Shakespeare in the Park in New York, is set in contemporary Messina, Georgia. The community is celebrating a break in an ongoing war, but not all is peaceful amid the merriment. Revenge, trickery, romantic retribution and miscommunication run amok. Featured are Danielle Brooks and Grantham Coleman as the sparring lovers Beatrice and Benedick.

This sumptuous production of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s classic 1951 musical is directed by Bartlett Sher. Featuring a treasure trove of timeless Rodgers & Hammerstein hits and a cast of more than 50, the show was recorded during its 2018 run in London’s West End. Ken Watanabe is the King of Siam with Kelli O’Hara in her Tony-winning performance as schoolteacher Mrs. Anna.
