Members of the 9/11 Commission reunite to reflect on the most extensive investigation in U.S. history and the nation’s progress over the last 20 years. During the meeting--only their second since their historic 2004 report--the 9/11 Commissioners discuss their formation during a divided time, the challenges they faced and how they overcame them to achieve true bipartisanship. The members reflect on how five republicans and five democrats came to a unanimous consensus, what they recommended and how their work continues to reverberate today. Finally, they address the underlying question: "Are we safer today?"

Following ten intimate personal accounts, SURVIVING 9/11: WHERE WE STAND reflects on strength survivors have continuously found in community and themselves. They share experiences marked indelibly, not only by loss but also by optimism, and an enduring commitment to life in spite of tragedy. The documentary is a mirror to our current moment of ongoing global crisis and the hope that can be found even in the darkest of times. Yet, while the message of the film resonates at any moment, it carries particular poignancy in the late summer/early fall, when the anniversary of 9/11 invites reflection and remembrance.
